What Makes Malaysia Grace Bible Institute Different?

We emphasize practical mentorship alongside classroom learning

Our core philosophy of training ministers revolves around three elements - Knowing, Being and Doing. MGBI provides opportunities in the coursework of every class for you to apply what you are learning in some life setting - be it ministry or work or family. This relates to the Doing element. If you want to be a minister to others in the future, then why not start today!

We train ministers, not seminarians

While there is certainly a place for seminary level training, our focus is placed solely on preparing ministers for front lines local ministry and church planting efforts. Our coursework, therefore, omits some traditional seminary level training in subjects like Greek and Hebrew languages, church history, and others while maintaining a strong biblical emphasis.

Church planting and missions is at the heart of our training

This training program is for those who want to be involved in grassroots ministry - one that involves leading a missional-minded congregation or pioneering a new church in a town that needs one. Establishing the gospel of grace across Malaysia is our top priority and you can be involved in exciting ways. If this sounds exciting to you, then apply today!

Our programs are affordable with scholarships available

MGBI is not-for-profit, has low overhead, and maintains a philosophy of keeping costs as low as possible and transparent for students. We don’t believe in owning lots of buildings or carrying a lot of expenses. Rather, we value simplicity in our approach to ministry training.

We teach students to value the context of God’s Word

Most Bible students don’t know how to handle criticisms of the Bible, and when apparent contradictions are shown to them they are not equipped to “give an answer for the hope that is within them”. Knowing biblical context - especially the difference between law and grace - will take students to the next level of biblical understanding.

Our faculty consists of experienced workers / planters

MGBI faculty bring a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to the classroom. Each faculty has a minimum of 15 years of experience in local church ministry and each has a Master’s Degree or higher. All of them have served extensively in church planting efforts or pastoral ministry and are committed to seeing the gospel of grace established in local churches throughout Malaysia.
